ISLAMABAD: PPP Senator Sherry Rehman has stressed the urgent need for bold climate action as Pakistan prepares for the upcoming COP29 summit in Baku. Speaking as the chief guest at an international conference on “Navigating Pakistan’s Climate Action Path: Adaptation, Finance, and Technology,” organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS) in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Stiftung (HSS), Rehman emphasized Pakistan’s pressing climate challenges.

She highlighted that Pakistan, already grappling with extreme weather events and record-breaking heatwaves, is highly vulnerable to climate change. Despite these challenges, the country remains underprepared. Rehman also called on global leaders to move beyond rhetoric and take meaningful steps toward climate targets, noting that this decade is critical for achieving progress, particularly for vulnerable nations like Pakistan.
